Madrid- New Year celebration

In Toledo
The famous Prado museum

This is Madrid, the capital of Spain but this city doesnt take itself too seriously. Despite less glamorous than Paris or London..but still its worth the visit. In Madrid, all roads lead to Puerta del Sol, kilometre zero the physical and emotional heart of the city. We spent our New Year celebration there of course! Never thought we would celebrate New Year anymore cos the celebration in Malaysia is full of foreign people (if you know what I mean!!) We spent a day out in Toledo, a historical city which is an hour away. To be honest, i personally prefer Toledo than Madrid but of course city life is better in Madrid. This is great holiday to end 2007 and busy period audit is coming and the next travel would only be in Easter...huwaaa. Anyway, happy new year to everyone and hope 2008 would bring more happiness and success.

We flew off to Barcelona on early Sunday morning. Woke up at 2am cos the flight is at 6am from Liverpool to Barcelona. This is one of the most exciting cities in Europe where we bumped into few Malaysians as well. It has the typical medieval palaces and plazas in the old quarter and of course all the Gaudi's masterpieces such as La Sagrada familia, Park Guell, Casa Batllo. A visit to Barcelona is not enough without visiting all these places. Adding up to the trip is my lovely niece Nina who joined us from Rome. Definitely not a dissappointing trip especially with the trip to Zara..haha.

Gosh, its one year already! Time flies..unbelievable. Drive down south to Birm to pick up Farah and Mijoe then drive further down to London. Crashing at Preston's place (the last time before he's getting married in Dec) and celebrating him as well. In a year ive managed to go Marseille, Prague, Austria, Swiss, Berlin, New York, Andalucia and Portugal. Well done me! Cant believe I have managed to achieve what i have wanted to do. The power of dream and hard work, definitely! Anyway, Preston have a wonderful wedding back home and shall enjoy the nasi minyak Anin cooks for me in London later..hehe. To all my friends, thanks for all the support. You've my my life in UK full of colours!

Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin to everyone. I am excited spending Raya here as have always been celebrating in Malaysia for the whole life. A change will do me good! So as part of the tradition, invited my Malays friends in Manchester to come over where I cooked a few dishes- fried noodles, spaghetti, honey chicken wings and tid bits. Not to bad for a girl who has never really cook before. My family will be so proud..
